Our method of facial expression capture provides the following benefits...

• Accurate results. As proof of tracking accuracy look carefully at the automatically applied virtual makeup in the demo. It follows the face movement exactly to give the appearance of a shortened nose.
• Automatic expression capture from a single video/ film source. This takes less setup time than systems that require multiple cameras, and is less restrictive in terms of location or set dimensions.
• Specialised cameras for use with retro-reflective markers are not required.
• Expressions can be captured from shots containing multiple actors. This allows the "CG character actor" to act against other actors in film scenes. This helps the actors to give a better performance. In post-processing expressions can be obtained from the film before the actor is rotoscoped out, and replaced by the CG character.
